CATDOLL: What is the breeding model for silver carp and how to feed it with feed to achieve high efficiency?

1. Food habits and nutritional requirements of bighead carp

Bighead carp mainly feeds on zooplankton, and also eats a small amount of phytoplankton, bacteria and debris. According to the research on the proportion of bighead carp's food sources, the ratio of zooplankton to phytoplankton is about 9:1. Bighead carp is generally raised in fish ponds and reservoirs in daily farming. Farmers believe that bighead carp does not eat feed, but when feeding pellets and small-particle feeds, it is found that bighead carp can eat powder and small-particle feeds. Some farmers use powder and small-particle extruded feeds for domestication and find that bighead carp can eat compound feeds. Some researchers dissected the intestines of bighead carp 0.5 hours after feeding and found that the intestinal obstruction was mostly in the midgut, and most of it was artificial compound feed, with only a small part being large zooplankton.

In recent years, as the price of fish of various species fluctuated greatly, some farmers increased the stocking density of bighead carp in order to increase the breeding benefits. Bighead carp mainly feeds by filtering through gill rakers. The gaps between gill rakers make it difficult for it to eat feed larger than 2.0 mm. The feed for main fish is mainly large-sized feed, which bighead carp cannot eat. Therefore, bighead carp mainly feeds on zooplankton in the water. Its growth rate is greatly affected by stocking density and water fertility.

Bighead carp has high requirements for protein sources and fats, and should be classified as a "carnivorous" animal among filter-feeding fish. Protein is an essential nutrient for fish growth and survival. According to research and development and practical tracking, bighead carp's protein requirement ranges from 25% to 35%, and the higher the water temperature, the higher the protein requirement. Adding a certain proportion of animal protein can significantly increase the growth rate of bighead carp, especially in the high-density breeding process of bighead carp, where feed with a higher proportion of animal protein has a superior effect. Fat, as an energy substance, also has the physiological function of maintaining the structure of cells. If farmed fish lack essential fatty acids, they will grow slowly, have an enlarged liver, and have a high mortality rate. Bighead carp, which feeds on zooplankton, has higher requirements for fat than other freshwater fish, ranging from 5% to 7%. If it is less than 4%, it will affect the growth of bighead carp. Because bighead carp grows faster in high-temperature seasons, it also has higher requirements for vitamins, minerals, etc. Therefore, its demand should be considered in feed.

2. Several breeding modes of bighead carp

The pond-raising model of bighead carp is divided into high-density bighead carp raising and low-density bighead carp raising. Bighead carp is a water-regulating fish, and it is matched with silver carp and other fish to regulate water quality. Under the low-density stocking model, the water quality is well regulated. In South China, 1-2 batches are released a year, starting at 3-4 jin. A bighead carp of 3-4 liang can reach about 4 jin in half a year. In order to speed up the growth rate of bighead carp, feed is needed in high-density farming. If no feed is added, the growth rate of bighead carp will be slow. If feed is fed, it can reach about 4 jin after 5-6 months.

The pond-based bighead carp farming model can, on the one hand, increase the sales speed of the main fish, especially grass carp, because most fish require a certain proportion of miscellaneous fish such as bighead carp, silver carp, crucian carp, etc. as the main fish, and bighead carp is particularly popular among fish; secondly, it can prevent algae from over-accumulating due to excessive water abundance and maintain the stability of the water body; thirdly, bighead carp has a good price and is easy to sell, which can increase breeding profits and bring better breeding benefits to farmers.

In the intensive pond farming model, the stocking density is about 1,000 fish per mu, mainly using powdered feed. The model is relatively simple, the output is low, and the benefits are average. It mainly provides fish species for polyculture ponds.

3. Feeding of bighead carp feed

After being domesticated, bighead carp mainly feeds on the surface of the water, with its head above the water. It swims slowly around the feeding ground and actively eats compound feed. This requires that the bighead carp compound feed has good buoyancy in water. Currently, the commercial feeds on the market are usually powdered feeds and puffed feeds.

This type of fish is fed according to the intensive breeding model, and it is necessary to choose appropriate feed according to the growth of the fish and the size of the fish.

It must be farmed in water. The farming model is small-scale farming. It needs to be fed scientifically and in accordance with the prescribed proportions to maximize resources and achieve high benefits.

The breeding mode of bighead carp in ponds is divided into high-density bighead carp breeding and low-density bighead carp breeding. Bighead carp is a water regulating fish, and it is matched with white carp and silver carp to regulate water quality. In the intensive breeding mode of ponds, the stocking density is about 1,000 per mu, mainly using powder feed, the mode is relatively simple, the output is low, and the benefit is general. It mainly provides fish species for polyculture ponds. Selection of feeding points: In order to improve the feeding efficiency of bighead carp, it is best to feed the main fish such as grass carp and bighead carp in different areas, and choose to feed them in waters more than 20 meters away from the feeding point of the main fish grass carp. The best feeding point in the reservoir area is in the upwind, quiet, and not too deep water. Use bamboo to make a basket frame and sprinkle the feed in the center of the basket frame for feeding. If necessary, the powder can also be sprinkled after adding water, but pay attention to mixing the water evenly. Start feeding bighead carp half an hour after grass carp. Feed when most of the grass carp in the pond are eating. Bighead carp is very sensitive to changes in the external environment when eating. If other fish enter the feeding area, bighead carp will stop feeding. If you feed them in advance or at the same time, some grass carp will snatch the bighead carp feed, affecting the bighead carp's eating.
