The first choice of extensive management is silver carp, bighead carp and duckbill fish, which are often raised in fish ponds. Since they feed on plankton, they are generally not fed with special feeds. Secondly, herbivorous fish such as grass carp, bream, tilapia and Chinese spiny bream can be raised. As long as some forage grass such as Sudan grass is grown and fed, no feed is required. Small fish such as yellow catfish and sunfish are also suitable for extensive breeding.
