To culture yellow catfish in cages, you first need to choose to place cages in waters such as reservoirs, lake forks, and rivers that are leeward and sunny with a water depth of more than 4 meters. The cage is made and installed using a 3×3 polyethylene knotted net with specifications of 3 meters long, 3 meters wide, and 1.6 meters deep or 4 meters long, 4 meters wide, and 1.6 meters deep; the outer mesh is 3 cm and the inner mesh is 1 cm. The cage uses bamboo as a floating frame and is fixed with anchor ropes to form a "one" or "product" shape. If you stock fish with a tail weight of 25 grams, the stocking density is 100 fish/square meter. If you stock fish with a tail weight of 50 grams, the stocking density is 70 fish/square meter. Before the fish are put into the box, they need to be soaked in a 3-5% salt solution for 10-15 minutes.

The specific feeding amount should be flexibly controlled according to the weather, water temperature, and fish activity. Generally, the daily feeding amount is 5-8% of the fish body weight. Feeding frequency is twice a day, that is, once in the morning and once in the evening. It is best to eat the feeding amount within 1 hour each time. According to the night-time feeding habits of yellow croaker, the feeding amount in the evening should account for 60%, and the feeding amount in the morning should account for 40%. Feeding should follow the "four fixed" principle.

In daily management, it is required to wash the nets every 7-10 days and clean the feeding table once a day. To prevent fish from escaping from the cages, the nets should be carefully observed and checked for damage and slippage every day. If so, they should be repaired in time. To allow the yellow croaker to feed normally, the nets should be covered with sunshade nets.

For the control of diseases and pests of Croton tiglium, the commonly used drugs are insecticides and antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agents.

For insecticides, you can use diazinon at a concentration of 0.03ppm per cubic meter of water and spray it throughout the pond, or use copper sulfate: ferrous sulfate = 0.15:0.05ppm in a concentration ratio and spray it. Note that although these two insecticides are more effective against insects such as ringworms and wheelworms, they can only be used alone and cannot be mixed or used alternately, and must not be used in excess.

Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agents are mainly used for fish infected with bacteria. The method is to take oral medication (mixed in feed and pressed into pellets) sulfamethoxazole tablets, add 15-20 grams to every 50 kg of bait and feed for 3 consecutive days, twice a day, or mix 10 grams of furazolidone and 20 grams of oxytetracycline and add them to 50 kg of bait, feed for 3 consecutive days, twice a day; you can also use oral penicillin capsules, add them to the feed (5 grams) and feed for 3 consecutive days, twice a day. Note that it is best to prepare the medicine and feed it immediately, and feed it once for 3 days.

For the treatment of hemorrhagic disease, use 50 kg of raw salt per mu and sprinkle it throughout the pond. At the same time, mix 100 g of sulfathiazole and 10 g of vitamin C evenly in every 50 kg of bait, feed it for 3 days, twice a day.

It should be noted that in the prevention and treatment of yellow croaker disease, it is generally forbidden to use dichlorvos pesticides.
