Why do cats scratch their ears with their feet?

Reasons why cats scratch their ears with their feet:

1. It is a habit for cats to scratch their ears. It may be a sign of happiness or anger. As long as there is no obvious foreign object in its ears, there is no need to worry too much.

2. It may be caused by ear mites. If there is dark brown secretions in the ear canal, it is ear mites. The cat needs to be treated regularly with ear wash solution.

3. It may be caused by ringworm. If redness, swelling, hair loss, dandruff, scabs, etc. appear around the ears, it is ringworm. You can use drugs to treat fungi on the affected area.

Symptoms of ear mites in cats:

1. Itching: Once a cat is infected with ear mites, its ears will itch unbearably. It will constantly scratch its ears with its hands, or constantly shake its head and rub its head on the floor. If you find a cat with these symptoms, it may have ear mites.

2. Abnormal earwax color: If the cat's earwax is dark brown or black waxy and difficult to clean, it can generally be determined that it is ear mites;

3. The cat's ears have an odor: A healthy cat's ears do not have any odor, but a cat with ear mites has a particularly unpleasant sour odor in the ears. In severe cases, you can smell it when you get close to the cat. In this case, the cat's ear mites are already quite serious.
