CATDOLL: How to ship your cat home

How to transport cats back home from other places?

If you want to transport your cat back home from another place, you can choose to use a special vehicle for transportation, such as airplane, train, bus, etc.

1. Air transport

This mode of transportation is relatively expensive. Pets need to be packed in airline boxes, not iron cages. Owners must bring plenty of food and water, and also provide health certificates and quarantine certificates for pets, otherwise they cannot board the plane.

You can book a suitable cabin in advance, arrive as early as possible, and prepare sedatives according to the pet's mood to prevent the dog from becoming emotionally unstable, airsick, fearful, and other symptoms of discomfort. Avoid transfers during the journey.

2. Railway transportation

Railway transportation also requires a quarantine certificate. The cost is lower than air transportation. The owner should try to travel with the pet. Soothe the pet's emotions and prepare plenty of food and water.

3. Bus transportation

Passenger transport is relatively convenient and saves money. It is suitable for short-distance delivery. Try to avoid changing vehicles midway. You can tell the driver the destination and the recipient's name and contact information in advance, and make a good handover with the recipient. Inform the driver of precautions to prevent the pet from barking or feeling uncomfortable.

4. Logistics consignment

The logistics shipping fee is not high, and the owner is less worried, but the pet will be bumpy due to the change of stations along the way. Some special shipping stations will be used for shipping, and the fee will be paid in advance. After arriving at the destination, the recipient can go to the shipping department to pick up the pet.

Things to note when transporting pets:

1. Prepare appropriate cages and shipping boxes according to the size of your pet. The cage or box should be large enough for the pet to stand up and move around. Lying inactive for too long will block blood circulation and may lead to sudden death. It is also important that the cage be ventilated.

2. Do not feed pet food 4 hours before check-in, but you can feed water during this period.

3. Choose a stable and safe position for your pet when checking in. If your pet is prone to motion sickness, you can feed it motion sickness medicine. Some pets are susceptible to stress, so it is not recommended to use anti-stress medicine. You can choose a safe airline box for check-in.

4. Do not feed your pet with food after it arrives at the ground. Allow the dog to adapt for more than 4 hours before feeding. You can feed it a small amount of water or sugar water.
