CATDOLL: Does my rock turtle have white eye disease? What should I do? Help!

[Cause] Due to the increase in stocking density and excessive alkalinity of water quality. This disease often occurs in young turtles. [Symptoms] The eyes of sick turtles are congested and inflamed, the eyes are swollen, the cornea and nasal mucosa are eroded due to inflammation of the eyes, the outside of the eyeball is covered with white secretions, and the eyes cannot be opened. Sick turtles often rub their eyes with their forelimbs, move slowly, stop eating in severe cases, and finally die due to weakness and other complications. This disease often occurs in spring and autumn. [Prevention and Treatment] For turtles with mild symptoms (can open their eyes), they can be soaked in furazolidone or furazolidone solution once a day for 40 minutes each time. Generally speaking, it can be cured in a week. For turtles with severe symptoms that cannot open their eyes, first clean the white matter and white dead skin in the eyes. If bleeding continues, then soak the turtle in furazolidone or furazolidone solution, and extend the soaking time to 1 hour a day!
