How to farm shrimp?

1. Selection of shrimp farming sites

The pond construction site is required to have sufficient water, good water quality, solid soil, and convenient water inlet and outlet. The specific requirements are as follows:

1. Site selection. Basically the same as the requirements for fish ponds or use the original freshwater fish pond for breeding.

2. Shrimp pond area: 2 to 10 mu, with a water depth of 1.2 to 1.5 meters, preferably rectangular, with a slope of 1:2 to 1:2.5, and a slightly sloping bottom to facilitate drainage.

3. Drainage system. The shrimp pond should have independent water inlet and outlet channels for shrimp farming.

2. Preparations before stocking shrimp

1. Clean the pond. For newly developed shrimp ponds, water can be added after 2-3 days of exposure. For old ponds, it is necessary to clear the stasis and expose them to the sun for a winter, and strictly clean and disinfect the pond. About 15 days before stocking, strictly disinfect with drugs (quicklime, bleaching powder).

2. Cultivate basic bait. 7 to 10 days before stocking, fill the shrimp pond with 50 cm of water and then apply fertilizer to cultivate basic biological bait in the shrimp pond. Fertilizer types include organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer.

3. Stocking of shrimp seedlings

Shrimp seedling desalination: The success of shrimp desalination farming depends on the desalination of shrimp seedlings. Seedling manufacturers should proceed step by step during the desalination process and it is strictly forbidden to desalinate suddenly. Shrimp seedlings must be desalinated to a salt content of 1.003 before they can be directly moved into fresh water for farming.

4. Management of shrimp farming

After the shrimp fry enter the pond, it is the daily management work. During the breeding period, in addition to strengthening production safety measures, the main work is water quality management, feeding management, disease prevention and control, etc.

What are the methods for breeding shrimp?

When it comes to mud shrimp, I believe everyone knows that it not only grows fast, but also has strong adaptability. Therefore, many people breed it. However, if you want to produce high yields of mud shrimp, you must master the basic breeding conditions and methods. So what are the breeding methods for mud shrimp?

1. Site selection: Prawns like to grow in muddy bottoms, sandy bottoms, sandy muddy bottoms and other areas, so when choosing a site, you can build a pond about 1.5 to 2 meters high, put about 10 cm of silt at the bottom, and dig a 4-meter wide and 0.5-meter deep ditch around it to facilitate drainage in the later stage.

2. Clean the pond: Before placing the shrimp, use quicklime or bleaching powder to thoroughly disinfect the pond to prevent bacteria from growing and affecting the growth of the shrimp. Generally, if the sludge is thick, it should be exposed to the sun for about a month in advance. If the sludge is not very thick, drain the water and expose it to the sun for 2 to 3 days before adding water.

3. Pond fertilization: The diet of the shrimp is varied, but it mainly feeds on plankton. Therefore, a small amount of organic or inorganic fertilizer should be applied one week before stocking to ensure that the shrimp has the biological bait needed during its growth.

4. Stocking: Prawns like to grow in water temperatures around 18 to 30 degrees, so it is best to stock them in mid-May. Before stocking, it is best to keep the shrimp fry in light salt water for a week and then transfer them to the pond to increase the survival rate of the shrimp fry.

In general, shrimps are easy to breed. As long as you manage the water quality, feed feeding and other basic management tasks, they can grow healthily.
