CATDOLL: How to raise snapper How to raise snapper

1. How to raise sea bream How to raise sea bream

1. The layout of the fish tank is also very important. Most ornamental fish live around stones and rocks. Such an environment has more caves and can protect themselves well. We must take this into consideration when arranging the fish tank. A layer of sand can be laid on the bottom of the tank. Of course, it must be alkaline sand, such as fine coral sand, shell sand, etc.

2. When placing stones, do not place them in a row. Instead, highlight the key points in the tank. Generally, the main stone pile should be placed one-third to one-quarter of the left or right side of the tank. Then place some stones that are secondary to the main stone pile at the other end of the tank. It may be necessary to rearrange and design the stones many times before finally choosing a more reasonable and eye-catching shape.

3. When adding water, be careful to put a plate at the bottom of the tank and pour the water directly into the plate to prevent the water from washing away the sand and affecting the appearance. During the entire process of cleaning the fish tank, sand, and stones, be sure to wash your hands clean and never touch oily things.

4. After adding water, you can put in a few fish to test whether there are harmful substances in the newly arranged tank. It is recommended to use some Little Prince, Snow Snapper, Blue Zebra, etc.

5. Feeding the fish is also very important. In fact, many friends’ fish did not die of starvation, but of being fed to death. Fish may not be able to eat a full meal every day in their place of origin. If they are fed too much, they are more likely to die.

6. Ornamental fish can be fed mainly dry feed in normal times. Dry feed is convenient and saves trouble. It is OK to feed some dry feed such as red worms and blood worms occasionally, and the amount should not be too much.

7. Another characteristic of ornamental fish is that the color will become better as they are raised. The color of the newly bought fish may not be very good, but as long as you raise them patiently, they will never let you down.

2. What is the current situation of Sparidae farming in my country?

The Sparidae fish currently farmed in my country include red sea bream, black sea bream, flat sea bream and yellowfin sea bream. They are multi-spawning types and are all high-quality marine fish. They occupy an important position in my country's marine fish farming. Red sea bream and black sea bream are farmed in both the south and north of my country; flat sea bream and yellowfin sea bream are mainly farmed in the area south of the Yangtze River estuary. Red sea bream, commonly known as Guola, Hongjiaji, Wangshan fish, and red plate, has a suitable temperature range of 9 to 30℃ and a suitable salt range of 17 to 31. It is the largest Sparidae fish farmed in cages along the coast of my country. The seedlings mainly come from artificial breeding. The spawning period is from November to February of the following year in southern Fujian and the coastal areas of Guangdong, from February to May in northern Fujian and the coastal areas of Zhejiang, and from May to July in the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea. The northern region needs to overwinter indoors.

Black sea porgy, commonly known as black porgy, sea porgy, and black porgy, has a suitable salt range of 4.0-35.0 and a suitable temperature range of 4.3-34.0℃. It has a stronger tolerance to low temperatures than true sea porgy. The sexual maturity process has an obvious sex reversal phenomenon. Most of the 2-year-old fish are hermaphrodites, more than 50% of the 3-year-old fish are male, and most of the 4-year-old fish are female.

Flathead snapper, commonly known as Fangtou, is an omnivorous shallow coastal bottom fish distributed in the Yellow Sea, East China Sea and South China Sea. It has strong reproductive capacity and a wide range of diet. It can be raised alone or in mixed culture in cages and ponds. The suitable temperature range for adult fish is 8-35℃, and the suitable salt range is 5-40. Yellowfin snapper matures at the age of 2, and spawns near the coast of southern my country from late October to February of the following year when the water temperature is 17-24℃. Fry can be seen in January and February.

Young yellowfin snappers often cannibalize each other when hungry, so care should be taken when breeding them to ensure that they are fed evenly.

Flathead sea bream and yellowfin sea bream are mostly used as matching species in mixed farming. Due to their slow growth, there are more natural seed sources which can basically meet the needs of mixed farming, and the production of their artificial seed is very small.

3. Is the Three Lakes Cichlid easy to raise?

It is very easy to raise. The price of the three-lake cichlid is affordable, colorful, and very easy to raise. The breeding method is as follows:

1. Water quality

If you want to know how to raise cichlids in the three lakes, first we need to understand the living environment of cichlids in the three lakes, that is, the water quality. The pH value of the Spanish mackerel and the Vibrio bream in the three lakes must be maintained at at least 7.5, and the Tanzania bream must be higher at above 8 to grow and develop color well. The GH is preferably between 6 and 15, so in areas where the tap water pH value is 7, the water value needs to be appropriately raised. There are drugs that can be used, but the most economical and practical method is to add baking soda.

2. Fish Tank

The fish tank for the three lakes cichlids does not need to be too large, the width is more than 45 cm. A tank of about 1 meter is enough for Lake Ma and Lake Wei, and Lake Tanzania is even smaller, 80 cm is enough. If you want to raise the smallest cichlids, a 60 cm tank will do, and it is very beautiful to put it on the desk.

3. Filter

Because the high hardness of the three-lake tank leads to the accumulation of ammonia and other wastes, the three-lake cichlids need a powerful filtration system, preferably with a filter and a high-power water pump, which should be able to filter at least 6 stools of water in an hour. The filter cartridge is not recommended as the main filtering method, but can be used as an auxiliary method and can be combined with any other filtration system. In terms of nitrifying bacteria, it is best to use live bacteria produced by some large manufacturers, which are quick and effective, but a little expensive. Of course, if you are not in a hurry, slowly cultivating it yourself is also a good choice.

Feeding is a very important aspect of raising Sanhu cichlids, as it determines whether the fish can grow healthily. Otherwise, improper diet can cause diseases such as ascites and enteritis, which are life-threatening.

Other aspects that need to be paid attention to when raising three-lake cichlids:

1. Water quality. First of all, we need to understand the living environment of the three lake cichlids, that is, the water quality. The pH value of the Spanish mackerel and the Vibrio bream in the three lakes must be maintained at at least 7.5, and the Tanzania bream must be higher at above 8 to grow and develop color well.

The best GH is between 6 and 15, so in areas where the pH value of tap water is 7, the water value needs to be appropriately adjusted up. There are chemicals for conversion, but the most economical and practical method is still to add baking soda.

2. Fish tank. The fish tank for the Three Lakes Cichlids does not need to be too large, a width of more than 45 cm is fine. A tank of about 1 meter is enough for Lake Ma and Lake Wei, and 80 cm is enough for Lake Tanzania. If you want to raise the smallest mussels, a 60 cm tank will do, and it will be very beautiful if you put it on your desk.

3. Filtration. Because the high hardness of the three-lake tank leads to the accumulation of ammonia and other wastes, the three-lake cichlids need a powerful filtration system, preferably a top filter with a high-power water pump that can filter at least 6 times the water in an hour.

The filter cartridge is not recommended as the main filtering method, but can be used as an auxiliary method and can be combined with any other filtering system. In terms of nitrifying bacteria, it is best to use live bacteria produced by some large manufacturers, which are quick and effective, but a bit expensive.

4. Three Lakes Cichlid, Cichlidae (Kullander, 1998), (English cichlid) cichlid [Pinyin]: [diāo] belongs to the class of bony fish, the order of Perciformes, the family Cichlidae, a genus of fish called the Cichlidae, which is what we call the Cichlidae.

Among the fish species in the world, the Cichlidae family is one of the most successful in evolution. It is found in all major waters around the world, with about 200 genera and more than 2,000 species. It is the family with the largest number of species among bony fish.

5. Cichlids are native to tropical Central and South America, Africa and the West Indies. They have been introduced to all parts of the world because of their extremely high ornamental value. They are now the most common alien fish species in tropical and subtropical regions.

6. It is best for cichlids to eat natural food, such as frozen brine shrimp. Do not feed them with hormone-containing feed, otherwise it will easily prevent the fish from growing their natural color.

Additional information:

The three lakes cichlids are collectively referred to as the cichlids of Lake Malawi, Lake Tanganyika and Lake Victoria in Africa. The three lakes cichlids currently in captivity are divided into two categories: breeding and wild. The wild population is brightly colored and more ornamental, while the breeding population is slightly worse.

Lake Malawi Cichlids

Lake Malawi, one of the three largest lakes in East Africa, was formed as a rift lake in the Mesozoic Era about 15 million years ago due to the great changes in the earth's crust. It is the third largest lake in Africa, with a length of 580 kilometers from north to south and a width of 80 kilometers from east to west. It has a surface area of about 30,000 square kilometers and a depth of 704 meters.

It is the ninth largest lake in the world and the fourth deepest. The main outflow river is the Shire River, and the rest are nearby small rivers. It produces more than 800 species of cichlids, and more are being discovered.

Lake Malawi, the lake water contains a higher concentration of mineral salts and more minerals, the pH value is 7.7-8.8, the hardness is relatively high, the water temperature from the bottom of the lake to the surface is only 5℃ (24-29℃), most of the temperature does not exceed 3.5℃,

Therefore, there is no big temperature difference regardless of the water depth or region, and the water transparency is very high, the algae reproduction is small and the water quality is low.

Cichlids of Lake Malawi

There are more than 800 species of cichlids in Lake Malawi, but only about 300 have been confirmed and named by ichthyologists, most of which are from the genus Unicolor.

The genera and more common representative cichlids in Lake Malawi are as follows:

Haplochromis

It is the largest genus of cichlids in Lake Malawi. Most of them have a metallic blue luster, while females are mostly silver-gray.

The common fish species introduced to the island in the early days include: Blue Jasmine (Haplochromis moorli), Horse Face (Haplochromis compressiceps), Ali (Haplochromis ahli), Blue Emperor (Haplochromis annectens) and Blood Red (Haplochromis Sp.)...etc.

2. Aulonocara

It has a very similar appearance and metallic blue color to the genus Monochromatic, and the female fish is also silver-gray.

The species that have entered Taiwan, China include: Blue Angel (Aulonocara nyassae), Platinum Angel (Aulonocara nyassae Albino), Firebird (Aulonocara nyassae Red Flash)... etc.

3. Trenatocranus

It has similar characteristics to the genus Aulonocara, except that the dorsal fin with a thicker white border and the tip of the buttocks are white; it is often merged into the genus Aulonocara without distinction. The most representative fish species is Trenatocranus jacobfreibergi or Aulonocara jacobfreibergi.

The Mbuna group (Mbuna) means "a group of fish that live on the rocks by the lake" in the local dialect. They feed on mosses growing on the rocks. Their body colors are bright and complex, and sometimes males and females have completely different body colors.

4. Pseudotrophe-us

Such as: Prince Charming (Pseudotropheus zrbra Albino), Zebra Finch (Pseudotropheus Iombardoi), Blue Butterfly (Pseudotropheus eduardi) and Lightning Prince (Pseudotropheus elongatus)...etc.

5. Melanochromis

Such as: African Phoenix (Melanochromis auratus), Crown with Seven Bars (Melanochromis crabro) and Golden Sail Prince (Melanochromis brevis)...etc.

6. Labidochromis

Such as: African Prince (Labidochromis caeruleus), Flowerfinch (Labidochromis exasperatus).

7. Petrotilapia

Such as: violet (Petrotilapia tridentiger).

8. Labeotropheus

Such as: Flower Clownfish (Labeotropheus fuelleborni), Hook-nosed Clownfish (Labeotropheus fuelleborni).
