CATDOLL: What methods should be used to raise tilapia in a fish tank?

1. What methods should be used to raise tilapia in a fish tank?

Tilapia tank farming generally adopts two methods: single farming and mixed farming. Mixed farming can be divided into two methods: tilapia as the main fish and domestic fish as the main and then tilapia. Adult tilapia mainly feed on zooplankton and organic debris, so whether it is single farming or mixed farming with domestic fish as the main, the water quality should be rich. The water quality is cultivated by fertilizing so that the water body is rich in microbial bait. During the feeding period, regular watering or water changes are adopted to promote phytoplankton photosynthesis, so that the water quality maintains sufficient oxygen, which is beneficial to the growth and feeding of tilapia.

How to raise tilapia in a fish tank: Try to use a large water tank (more than 1 meter) to control the water quality and make the fish body more beautiful. Add some oxygenating equipment to increase the oxygen content of the water and make the fish more energetic. To ensure the smooth growth of the fish, you should also prepare a set of safe heat insulation equipment and a thermometer for convenient temperature monitoring. Add a little salt to the water, change the water frequently or regularly, twice a week, which can stimulate the rapid growth of the fish.

When feeding tilapia with concentrated feed, it is necessary to follow the principle of "eat less but more meals". Feed 2 to 5 times a day, and control the amount of each feeding so that the fish can eat it within 5 minutes to prevent the fish from not finishing the food and leaving sediment to prevent gastroenteritis. The food is mainly frozen bloodworms, and frozen shrimps and color-raising baits are used as auxiliary, which can achieve ideal results. In addition to the normal light source, the light should be turned on for 4 hours every day. The daily lighting can be controlled at about 10 hours, which will have a better effect on the health of the fish and the expression of color. Spreading a layer of bottom sand in the fish tank is not only conducive to the stability of water quality, but also conducive to the coloring of tilapia, especially the colorful sand containing bright red. But be careful not to affect the pH value of the water quality, which will affect the growth of tilapia.

Sometimes tilapia is prone to white spot disease due to drastic changes in temperature, so in areas where the temperature cannot be stabilized above 25°C, it is best to install a temperature controller in the tank when feeding and set the temperature to around 28°C. There are more common problems in tilapia breeding than the above. In fact, when raising animals, no matter what kind of pets, you must first have love, know how to observe and learn, and pay attention to their living habits and preferences, always pay attention to their breeding environment and changes in their own body, and believe that those who have a will can achieve their goals.

When raising tilapia in a fish tank, you must pay attention to controlling the water temperature and ensuring oxygen supply. Tilapia is an edible fish, not an ornamental fish. Therefore, it cannot be raised with other ornamental fish.

Generally, single and mixed fish farming methods are adopted. During the breeding process, attention should be paid to the temperature and water quality requirements. The requirements for the environment when breeding fish are particularly strict, and artificial breeding methods are adopted.

2. What to feed tilapia at home

Tilapia is fed with artificial feeds such as corn, bean cake, bean dregs, and fish meal at home. This fish, also called African crucian carp, is the main aquatic product farmed in my country. It has delicious meat, rich nutrition, and few bones. It is suitable for people of all ages. It is a tropical fish with fast growth and high yield. It has a relatively diverse diet. Because it has certain requirements for water temperature, it is mainly raised in southern coastal provinces.

3. How to feed tilapia properly?

There are two ways to feed tilapia feed: manual feeding and mechanical feeding. Generally, manual feeding requires controlling the feeding speed, and the principle of slow feeding at the two ends and fast feeding in the middle should be followed. That is, feeding should be slow at the beginning, and feeding should be fast when most of the fish have concentrated on grabbing food. When the fish feeding tends to be moderate and most of the fish are almost full, feeding should be slow. The feeding time is generally not less than 30 minutes. For pond fish farming and cage fish farming, manual feeding can flexibly control the feeding amount and can feed carefully, which is beneficial to improve feed efficiency, but it is time-consuming and labor-intensive. It is best to use mechanical feeding for large-scale water surface farming, that is, automatic feeding machine feeding. This method can be timed, quantitative, and positioned, and has the advantages of saving time and labor. However, it is not easy to control the feeding state using a mechanical feeding machine, and the feeding amount cannot be flexibly controlled.

In terms of feeding methods, the "four fixed" principles should be followed. ① Fixed point: Generally, feeding is carried out on the feeding table. It is best to set up a feeding table 3 to 4 meters away from the bank in the middle of the pond. Generally, 1 to 2 are built per acre of pond for fixed-point feeding. ② Timing: Choose a period of time when dissolved oxygen is high every day and feed regularly according to the water temperature. When the water temperature is below 20℃, feed once a day at 9:00 or 15:00; when the water temperature is between 20 and 25℃, feed twice a day at 8:00 and 14:00; when the water temperature is between 25 and 35℃, feed three times a day at 8:00, 14:00 and 18:00; when the water temperature is above 35℃, feed once a day at 9:00. ③Quantitative: According to the instructions for use of feed, determine the daily feeding amount according to pond conditions and fish species, specifications, weight, etc., and feed each time until 80% to 85% of the fish swim away after eating. If the feeding amount is only 70% of the full feeding amount, the feed coefficient will be relatively low, but the growth will be relatively slow; if the feeding amount reaches 100% of the full feeding amount, the growth will be good, but the feed coefficient will be relatively large; if the feeding amount exceeds 100% of the full feeding amount of the fish, it will pollute the water quality and increase the expenses of water quality management and useless feed. At the same time, feeding should be adjusted according to weather conditions, fish growth conditions and water quality conditions. Feed more when the weather is clear, windy and warm; feed less or not feed when the weather is bad, rainy, hot or cold; feed more appropriately when tilapia is growing vigorously and has no disease, otherwise feed less; when the water quality is fresh and the dissolved oxygen is sufficient, tilapia eats vigorously and can be fed normally; and when the water quality is poor and the dissolved oxygen is low, feed less or not feed. ④Quality determination: Protein is the most important nutrient for fish growth, and protein content is also the main indicator of fish feed quality. The amount of feed with high protein content can be appropriately reduced, while the amount of feed with low protein content should be increased. Feed produced by regular manufacturers should be selected, in which the content of various ingredients can meet the needs of fish growth, and the formula should be scientific, the ratio should be reasonable, and the quality should be excellent.
