CATDOLL: How to raise the hatched centipedes?

How to raise the hatched centipedes?

1. Ensure sufficient feed and drinking water. Juicy and soft animal feed should be the main feed for young centipedes. Earthworms and tadpoles are the favorite feeds for young centipedes. When feeding earthworms, select individuals with a body thickness similar to that of centipedes, cut them into small pieces, and throw them on a plastic board. Tadpoles can be fed directly, or they can be chopped into meat paste after removing the internal organs. The drinking water for young centipedes is mainly provided by absorbent sponges.

2. Make a good transition before hibernation. When the young centipedes are raised in a small container for 1.5 to 2 months, their first winter after birth is about to come. At this time, the young centipedes have completed their first molting after independent life and entered the second molting. All young centipedes should be cleaned once, divided into groups according to size and molting progress, and placed in different breeding pools or breeding tanks for breeding. At this time, the breeding soil in the breeding pool must be loose, and the temperature in the breeding house must be kept relatively stable to facilitate the young centipedes to enter the hibernation period smoothly.

3. Egg yolk and milk are good choices for feeding young centipedes in the early stage. Egg yolk should be directly placed on the plastic plate after being stirred into a paste. Milk needs to be dissolved in water first, then saturated with a small sponge, and then placed on the plastic plate. Change it once a day. Pay special attention to cleaning the plastic plate and sponge. When the sponge is found to have a rancid smell, it should be replaced. After half a month, the amount of egg yolk and milk should be gradually reduced, and other feeds such as earthworms should be fed at the same time.

4. When the young centipedes finish the breeding period, they should be separated from the mother centipede in time. If the mother centipede lives in a single "delivery room" at the beginning of the hatching period, then you only need to take the mother centipede out of the "delivery room". If the mother centipede is hatched in a group and shared pond, you can use the luring method to lure the young centipedes out of the breeding soil and then transfer them out. The specific method is: take advantage of the habit of young centipedes to gather and eat sweets, use a few clean artificial sponges with several small holes drilled in them, soak them in a solution containing glucose and milk powder for a while, and then put them in the activity area of the centipede pond in the evening. The young centipedes will crawl to the sponge to eat and rest. The next morning, gently pick up the sponge with tweezers, move it to the prepared feeder, and shake out the young centipedes inside.

Pay attention to the control of temperature, humidity, and breeding environment.

Although the young centipedes that have just left their mother's body have the initial ability to handle life, they are still relatively delicate after all. Therefore, we often put the newly hatched centipedes in smaller containers, such as some plastic bottles. Then when the first hibernation period of breeding arrives, each plastic basin with a diameter of about 0.5 meters can be used to raise 2-3 nests of young centipedes born at the same time. Spread about 5 cm of breeding soil in the basin, and stack 3-4 layers of tiles that have absorbed enough water on the soil for the centipedes to live. Put some sponges on the tiles for the centipedes to drink water. Put one or several small plastic boards in the center of the breeding soil for feeding. Place multiple such breeding containers on the breeding soil of the empty breeding pool to prevent the young centipedes from escaping as they grow up.

We can prepare the feed for newly born centipedes with egg yolk and milk. After stirring the egg yolk, put it directly on the plastic plate. The milk needs to be dissolved in water first, then saturated with a small sponge, and then placed on the plastic plate. Change it once a day. At the same time, pay special attention to cleaning the plastic plate and sponge, because if the centipede's food is placed on it, bacteria and microorganisms will be produced, which can easily cause harm to the body of the centipede. So when we find that the sponge has a rancid smell, we should replace it. After half a month, the amount of egg yolk and milk should be gradually reduced, and other baits such as earthworms should be fed at the same time.

When raising centipedes, special attention should be paid to the control of temperature and humidity. The temperature of the young centipedes should be maintained between 25 and 30 degrees. If they leave their mother's body in the autumn when the temperature is changeable, the temperature of the breeding soil should be carefully controlled. The humidity of the breeding soil for young centipedes should be maintained at 20%-25%. To prevent water accumulation at the bottom, small holes should be pierced at the bottom of the breeding container with a needle or a small nail to facilitate leakage.

At the same time, we also need to pay attention to the feeding of centipedes. Centipedes should be fed mainly with juicy and soft animal feed. Earthworms and tadpoles are the baits that young centipedes prefer to eat. When feeding earthworms, individuals with a body thickness similar to that of centipedes should be selected, cut into small pieces, and thrown on a plastic board. Tadpoles can be fed directly, or their internal organs can be removed and chopped into meat paste before feeding. The drinking water of young centipedes is mainly provided by absorbent sponges.

You can place the small centipedes in a humid environment for breeding, or you can place some smaller meat foods in the environment, so that you can better breed the small centipedes.

Ensure sufficient feed and water, you can also feed with milk, the temperature should be controlled above 20℃, and it should be exposed to the sun in time.

Pay attention to the temperature, maintain appropriate humidity, pay attention to the lighting conditions, and breed according to scientific methods. The breeding methods for different types of centipedes are different.

How to raise centipedes and what are the difficulties in breeding them

1. Introduction: The centipede must have an intact body, no damage on the body surface, normal activities, and a male-to-female ratio of 3:1. 2. Density: Adjust the stocking density according to environmental conditions and the thickness of sand. For young centipedes, there are 6,500 centipedes per square meter; for 5 cm centipedes, there are 3,500 centipedes per square meter; for 7-10 cm centipedes, there are 2,000 centipedes per square meter; for 12-13 cm centipedes, there are 1,100 centipedes per square meter; for centipedes over 15 cm, there are 600 centipedes per square meter.

Tips: Centipedes are protected wild animals (three protected animals). Protecting wild animals starts with ourselves. We should refuse to buy or sell wild animal products and do not interfere with the free life of wild animals. The current behavior of eating precious and endangered wild animals is not only a social bad habit, but also one of the reasons why illegal hunting and killing of precious and endangered wild animals are rampant. No buying or selling means no killing. Stop eating wild animals. They do not belong on the table.

1. How to raise centipedes

1. Centipede introduction

(1) Requirements: The centipede must have an intact body, no damage on the body surface, bright color, normal activity, and a body length of more than 10 cm.

(2) Ratio: The male-female ratio is 3:1.

2. Stocking density

(1) Adjust the stocking density according to environmental conditions and the thickness of the sand. If the climate is cold and the sand is thick, the stocking density should be increased appropriately; if the climate is hot and the sand is thin, the stocking density should be reduced appropriately.

(2) The stocking density of young centipedes that have just left the delivery room is controlled at 6500/m2. For centipedes over 5 cm, the stocking density is 3500/m2. For centipedes between 7 and 10 cm, the stocking density is 2000/m2. For centipedes between 12 and 13 cm, the stocking density is 1100/m2. For centipedes over 15 cm, the stocking density is 600/m2.

3. Feeding

(1) The food mainly consists of various insects, earthworms, meat, animal blood, fruits, fish, shrimp, eggs, etc., and the ingredients must be fresh.

(2) Feed every 2-3 days. Before feeding, clean up the food residue from the previous feeding.

(3) When feeding, put enough water in the drinking vessel.

4. Management

(1) The suitable activity temperature for centipedes is 25-30°C. When the temperature is below 10°C, they will not move. When the temperature is below 0°C, it is not conducive to the survival of centipedes. Therefore, in winter or when the temperature is low, it is necessary to keep warm in time.

(2) The relative humidity of the environment around the breeding site is controlled at around 70%.

(3) From June to August, centipedes are vulnerable to green muscardine fungus, and relevant prevention and control work needs to be done.

2. What are the difficulties in centipede breeding?

1. Food

(1) When feeding centipedes, carnivorous feed should be used as the main ingredient, and the more types of insects fed, the better.

(2) During the incubation period, centipedes do not eat or drink water. Before laying eggs, female centipedes will eat a lot to accumulate nutrients, so the amount of food should be increased at this time.

2. Introduction

When introducing centipedes, select them carefully to ensure the health of the insects.

3. Density

Centipedes have a nature of killing each other, so when breeding them, they need to be divided into groups and ponds according to their size.

4. Environment

(1) The ambient temperature should be between 25 and 30°C. In winter, the temperature is too low, so you should keep warm. In summer, the temperature is too high, which makes it easy to be attacked by green muscardine.

(2) Ensure the surrounding environment is quiet and avoid strong light exposure.
