CATDOLL: What medicine to use for red spider mites

Red spider mites can be killed with 75℃ silver alcohol.

After the rose is infested with red spider mites, if there are only one or two pots and they are being maintained at home with children, many flower-growing experts do not recommend using pesticides to kill insects in such situations. Instead, you can use cigarette butts soaked in concentrated water, laundry detergent, alcohol, garlic water and other diluted sprays for prevention and control. This is safe and effective, but if the pests are too serious, frequent use will not be effective.

Precautions for killing rose spider mites with alcohol

1. The concentration should be low

When using alcohol to kill red spider mites, you cannot use alcohol spray directly as the concentration is too high and can easily burn the leaves, causing them to fall off. Use it at 1500 times the concentration.

2. You can’t spray back and forth

Also, when spraying, you cannot spray back and forth, just once, just spray it wet. Do not spray again after spraying if you see alcohol. Just once will do, do not spray it several times, as the leaves of the rose are tender and weak.

3. Ventilation and no exposure to the sun

When using alcohol spray to control red spider mites, do not expose it to direct sunlight, the environment must be ventilated, and do not spray when it is highly exposed to the sun. Spray it in the cool evening. The effect will be good in one night, and then spray and rinse with clean water the next morning. If it rains after spraying, do not spray immediately after the rain stops, and use it again the next day.

4. Don’t do it too often

Also, after using alcohol spray to control red spider mites, it should not be used too many times, as this will seriously hinder photosynthesis. Of course, if it is used too many times, the effect will be poor as well as the red spider mites.
