What are the symptoms of feline urethritis?

Feline urethritis may manifest as frequent and constant in and out of the litter box, but only a small amount of urine can be discharged each time, or even no urine can be discharged, and urination is difficult and painful, sometimes with screams, blood in the urine, and cats often lick their anus and genitals. Some cats may also vomit, be listless, and have a decreased appetite.

Treatment for feline urethritis:

1. Feline urethritis can be treated by intravenous infusion. If the symptoms are more severe, a urinary catheter is required. If a cat with urinary retention cannot urinate in time, it may lead to acute renal failure.

2. The essence of cat urethritis is bacterial infection. Therefore, anti-infection measures are very necessary. Usually, infusion, anti-inflammatory injections, anti-inflammatory drugs, urethral flushing, etc. are used to alleviate the symptoms of cat urethritis.

3. If the cat has symptoms of hematuria during urethritis, it is necessary to stop the bleeding. The specific method needs to be operated and implemented according to the advice of the pet doctor.
