How to deworm cats externally?

The method of using the internal and external cat deworming medicine is to drop the medicine on the skin of the domestic cat.

The method of using the cat deworming medicine is to drop the medicine on the cat's skin. The medicine will be absorbed into the blood through the skin, and some of the medicine will enter the digestive tract and blood through the mouth when the cat combs its fur. Pharmacokinetic studies have shown that selamectin in plasma shows long-lasting absorption after topical application of drops.

Precautions

1. Understand the dosage and usage: For external use, use 6 mg of selamectin for every 1 kg of cat. Separate the fur in front of the shoulder blades behind the neck of the domestic cat to expose the skin, and squeeze the liquid medicine onto one or more skin areas. There is no need to massage the medication area, and the liquid medicine should not be used on damaged skin.

2. Possible adverse reactions: Some domestic cats may excessively lick and comb their fur at or around the medication site, causing inflammatory or non-inflammatory hair loss. Some domestic cats may exhibit vomiting, drooling, or diarrhea that may be unrelated to treatment. Pet owners need to pay close attention. If these reactions persist for a long time, consult a veterinarian.

3. In order not to affect the efficacy of the medicine, please do not use the medicine when the cat's fur is wet; bathing the cat 2 hours after using the medicine will not reduce the efficacy of the medicine.

4. Internal and external deworming drugs should be used according to the frequency of the two. For free-range cats, it is recommended to deworm them once a month, while for indoor cats, it is recommended to deworm them 2-4 times a year.
