The main food of turtle

The turtle is an omnivorous animal that mainly feeds on animal food, mainly small fish and shrimp, earthworms, animal viscera, maggots, snail and mussel meat, and rat meat. It also eats some vegetable food, wheat grains, etc. The turtle likes quietness and is afraid of being startled, likes the sun and is afraid of wind, likes cleanness and is afraid of dirt, likes freshness and is afraid of rottenness.

The main food of soft-shelled turtles is snails and small fish and shrimps. Soft-shelled turtles only have dental plates like those of babies, but no teeth. The method of soft-shelled turtles to find food is to choose a shore with snails, small fish and small shrimps, hide under the mud and sand, and wait for the snails, small fish and small shrimps to pass by. Once the snails, small fish and small shrimps pass by, the soft-shelled turtles will suck the snails, small fish or small shrimps into their mouths and swallow them directly.

Soft-shelled turtles have high requirements for water quality. Water pollution will lead to their death. When breeding, the water quality should be changed every week to keep the water source clean. However, the amount of water changed should not be too much. Replacing one-quarter of the water is enough to prevent the soft-shelled turtles from having difficulty adapting to the environment after the water change.

Soft-shelled turtles are suitable for growing in ventilated, sunny, quiet and clean places. When breeding, a pond should be built in a place with open terrain, sufficient sunshine and convenient drainage and irrigation. Since soft-shelled turtles need to bask in the sun during their growth process, a cement slope should be built beside the pond to allow the soft-shelled turtles to grow healthily.

What do turtles like to eat?

The soft-shelled turtle is an aquatic omnivore that likes to eat animal bait. Juvenile soft-shelled turtles feed on aquatic insects, water worms, tadpoles, shrimps, etc. Adult soft-shelled turtles eat snails, clams and other mollusks, fish, shrimps, and animal carcasses (because they cannot catch fish), as well as vegetable feeds such as vegetables, fruits, and grains.
