CATDOLL: How long does it take to farm snails?

1. How long does it take to farm snails?

Keep it in water for at least one day, changing the water twice during this period

If you want to be quick, here is a trick:

Use two large metal basins (aluminum basin, iron basin, stainless steel basin are all fine), fill one basin with half a basin of water, pour in the snails, and then add a little salt and cooking oil. Put the other basin upside down on the basin with snails to cover it, forming a closed space. Then just shake the basin up and down repeatedly with both hands like shaking dice, and continue for 5 to 10 minutes.

In this way, the sand and impurities in the snails will be basically discharged. The same method can be used to remove impurities from other shellfish.

This is done to remove grit and impurities and ensure the taste;

As for parasites, even if you keep the snails in clean water for ten days, they will still exist, so they can only be killed by cooking them thoroughly.

2. Snail farming

The production of golden apple snails is large, but the market is not big, but people still buy them. The field snails are very popular, but the price has been falling. The reason is that wild field snails have impacted the market, and they need running water to be raised, which has some harm to rice fields, but not much.

3. Where are the snail farming places?

It is very simple to raise snails. You can do it by yourself. Find a pond. The most popular species to raise are grass snails. Use quicklime to disinfect them. Kill all other species of snails in the pond. Find pure grass snail eggs and put them by the pond. When they hatch, they will enter the pond. When the snails are small, feed them with some tender grass. When they grow up, supply them with a large amount of green grass. It is best to have a running water source in the pond, so that the feeding density can be increased. Please note that the meat of pure grass snails is flesh-red when the shell is opened. If it is black, white, or dark gray, it is hybridized and is not easy to sell on the market. When raising, pay attention to the filter mesh of the water source to prevent other species of snails from entering and hybridizing. Feeding one season of breeding is enough for your next batch of feeding.
