Why is the body of parrot fish black?

Parrot fish, also known as fortune fish, may turn black or have black spots. There are several reasons for this:

1 When parrot fish are frightened, black spots will appear, which will disappear after a period of time.

2

The water quality is not good or the water quality is not suitable. When the water quality is bad, you should increase the water changes. If the water quality is not suitable, you should change the water immediately and adjust the water quality.

3

Red parrots sometimes have black spots when they grow up, but they will fade after a while. I had one like this before, but it got better after a while.

Because parrot fish are a cross between cichlids, it is not surprising that they have black spots when they are young.

During this period, you should pay more attention to the water quality and feed. If you want the red parrot to have more beautiful colors, feed it more shrimps or red-enhancing feeds such as Baozenghong and Ramahong.

Why does the parrot fish turn black?

Blood parrots are black when they are young, and this black color will gradually fade and turn into bright red as they grow.

There are several situations in which black spots appear in parrot blood when it is a big fish:

1.Being frightened

2. Poor water temperature and quality

3. Sickness

Dark spots caused by illness will restore their color on their own after treatment.

It is caused by being frightened, and will restore its color on its own after it calms down.

It is caused by poor water temperature and water quality. After adjusting the water temperature and water quality, the color will recover by itself.

However, if the blood parrot still has black spots when it grows to about 8-10CM, then such black spots will be lifelong and will not fade away.
