CATDOLL: Are scorpions easy to breed?

1. Are scorpions easy to breed?

Scorpions are easy to breed, but they are somewhat difficult. Scorpions have a molting period, during which they secrete a substance called linase, which has a strong smell. Scorpions that have not molted will seek out this smell to find scorpions that are molting, and they will cannibalize each other. If you don't know how to molt, you will miss a lot of scorpions.

Warm reminder: Scorpions are protected wild animals. Protecting wild animals starts with ourselves. Refuse to buy or sell wild animal products and do not interfere with the free life of wild animals. The current behavior of eating precious and endangered wild animals is not only a social bad habit, but also one of the reasons why illegal hunting and killing of precious and endangered wild animals are repeatedly banned. No buying and selling, no killing. Stop eating wild animals, they do not belong on the table.

2. How to raise scorpions correctly? Correct way to raise scorpions

1. You should choose scorpions that are large in size, shiny in body, strong and lively, have a strong appetite, have a curved tail and are highly adaptable.

2. No matter what equipment you use to raise scorpions, you must consider whether the environment is ventilated, quiet, sunny, and well-drained. The equipment must be high enough to prevent the scorpions from crawling out.

3. Scorpions are animals that change temperature, but they are cold and heat resistant. Scorpions can survive when the outside temperature is between 40℃ and -5℃. The optimum temperature for their growth and development is 25 ~ 39℃. When the temperature is between 35 ~ 39℃, scorpions are most active, their growth and development accelerate, and most of them give birth and mate within this temperature range. Therefore, by artificially controlling the constant temperature of 33℃ ~ 36℃ around the clock, scorpions can be raised regardless of spring, summer, autumn or winter.

4. The stocking density generally depends on the age of the scorpions. There are 8,000 2- to 3-year-old scorpions per square meter; 4,500 4- to 5-year-old scorpions; 3,000 adult scorpions; and 1,000 pregnant scorpions.

5. Scorpions also have strict requirements for humidity. Most people think that scorpions like humidity, but they don't. Scorpions like dryness and are afraid of humidity, but too dryness is not conducive to the development of scorpions. Therefore, under normal circumstances, the principle of wetness during the day, dryness at night, and wetness in the nest should be maintained, so that the moisture content of the soil at the bottom of the pond or pot is between 15%-20%, and the relative humidity of the air is 75% as the optimal humidity. The breeding density of scorpion species should not be too high, so as to avoid cannibalism due to insufficient mating sites. During mating, the site should be flat and the nest should be dry.

6. Scorpions are carnivores and like to eat soft and juicy insects. When feeding, carnivorous feed should be used as the main food. The more types of small insects you feed, the better. Mealworms are the main food for scorpions at home. If possible, you can also feed some ground beetles, grasshoppers, earthworms, and crickets. Large scorpions are fed mealworms, and small scorpions are fed mealworms. Generally, 5 to 7 scorpions can eat one mealworm a day to calculate the food intake. When feeding, put the mealworms in a small plastic plate, and then place the small plate where the scorpions often move to find food. You can also feed a little more food to prevent the scorpions from competing for food and causing harm.

7. Put the sponge block that has absorbed enough water into a small plastic tray, and then place the small tray where the scorpion often moves. It is best to clean the sponge and small tray at 6 pm every day to avoid pollution that causes water quality deterioration and the occurrence of scorpion disease. In addition to absorbing water from the sponge, the scorpion can also absorb some water from the soil.

8. Feeding and management of pregnant scorpions: If the mother scorpion is found to have a fat abdomen and white rice-like embryos passing through the membrane wall, it means that the pregnant scorpion is about to give birth. The suitable temperature for giving birth to pregnant scorpions is 33℃ ~ 36℃. Low temperature will prolong the pregnancy time and may cause dystocia and high stillbirth rate, so temperature is very important for pregnant scorpions. In this way, the mother scorpion and the baby scorpions that are about to give birth should be selected in time and placed separately in the delivery room; the containers used in the delivery room can be glass bottles or plastic bottles.

3. Can scorpions be kept at home?

You need to prepare a smooth large tank or bucket to prevent scorpions from escaping, then put the scorpions you want to raise in it, and then catch some small insects such as grasshoppers to feed them. I heard from a friend that this is how to feed them. If you are a professional scorpion feeder, you have to look for more professional information!

4. Can scorpions be kept alive?

Of course it can be raised, and the profit is relatively high.

However, because the technical requirements are too high, ordinary people cannot successfully raise it.

Don't believe what some people say about raising scorpions, as you can make a lot of money. Especially some scorpion breeding farms that dare to say anything to sell their expensive seeds.

In the past few years, many farmers have raised scorpions, but most of them ended in failure. The only ones who made money from it were the seed supply companies. Also, if you really want to raise scorpions, you should first visit some farms with relatively advanced breeding technology to learn and then raise a small amount. If the experiment is successful, then expand the scale. Otherwise, the risk is very high. Scorpions have higher requirements for artificially controlled environments, much higher than raising pigs and chickens. Therefore, if the environment is not well controlled, even if the young scorpions can be successfully born, the mortality rate will be very high, and environmental control is very difficult.

In addition, the quality of artificially raised scorpions is not as good as wild ones, and the price is lower. Moreover, the price of scorpions has been uncertain in recent years. It is not like what is advertised that it will only rise and not fall. It will rise sharply. Because although scorpions are used in many medicines, the amount used is not very large.
