1. Pond conditions Seedling ponds are generally 20-100 square meters of earthen ponds, surrounded by sand nets or plastic sheets to prevent pests from invading, and the bottom of the pond is tilted toward the drain so that it can be completely drained when harvesting. Before stocking the seedlings, the bottom of the pond must be dried and then filled with new water, with a depth of 20-30 cm. A small plastic tube about 15 cm long is placed at the bottom of the pond for them to hide and rest. No more than 1/2 of the total area of the pond is planted with water hyacinths, duckweed, etc. 2. Stocking of fish fry The fry in the hatching pond net can be put into the seedling pond for breeding after they start to eat on the 4th day. The stocking density is 800-1000 per square meter. Rotifers and Daphnia are the best baits for the fry in the early stage. 3. Feeding In order to meet the initial feed requirements of the fry, 15 days before the fry are released, you can choose to cultivate Daphnia in another pond. The method is: drain the pond water, expose it to the sun, then put in lime water and manure, etc., and put in water, the water depth is about 60 cm. Daphnia can reproduce in large quantities in about 2 weeks. When the fry start to eat 1-2 days after being put into the pond, you can use a hand net to collect Daphnia and other plankton in the cultivation pond to feed the fry. From about the 8th day, you can add silk earthworms and chopped shrimps, shellfish meat, etc. After 30 days, you can feed pig blood, fish sauce, chopped animal offal, and some rice bran, wheat bran, soybean powder and other plant feeds. By the 40th day, the body length is 3-5 cm and it can be sold as fingerlings or transferred to adult fish ponds for breeding. |
