There are many varieties of shrimps, which can be roughly divided into river shrimps and sea shrimps. River shrimps are freshwater shrimps that grow up in rivers and lakes, while sea shrimps are shrimps that grow up in the sea. So, are prawns sea shrimps or river shrimps? What kind of shrimp are prawns? Are prawns sea or river? It is sea shrimp, prawns, or what we usually call prawns [origin, production season] are mainly distributed in the Huanghai Sea, Bohai Sea and the western coast of North Korea. Liaoning, Hebei, Shandong Province and Tianjin City are important production areas of prawns. In the past, there were two fishing seasons each year, spring and autumn. April to June is the spring flood; and October is the autumn flood. Mid-to-late October is the peak flood season. At the end of the 1970s, Chinese aquatic science and technology workers broke through the artificial seedling technology of prawns and solved the problem of artificially cultivated prawns. At present, Chinese prawn farming has been carried out along the coast of my country from Dandong City, Liaoning Province in the north to the coast of Hainan in the south. The annual output of farming is about 200,000 tons, which greatly exceeds the catch in natural seas. The difference between river shrimp and sea shrimp The main species of marine shrimps are white shrimps, while the main species of river shrimps are swamp shrimps. They all belong to the family of long-arm shrimps and are very similar in appearance, but their taste and texture are quite different, so the market prices vary greatly. Marine shrimps include prawns, nine-segmented shrimps, and mud shrimps. They are large in size, white and transparent with small blue or red spots, and their shells are very thin but relatively hard. Because they grow in a seawater environment, their salt and iodine content are slightly higher than that of river shrimps, and they are usually less polluted. River shrimps are mainly green shrimps, which are green with brown spots and have thin and soft shells. Although they are smaller in size, they are as rich in protein as sea shrimps and have a higher calcium content.
